⚠️ Student Chat is OFF by default. You must manually turn it on for students to message you. This is for safety — no student communication happens without teacher approval.
Principals can override any toggle from the Principal Dashboard → Control Panel. This lets you enforce school-wide policies (e.g., disable PvP during testing weeks).

💬 Messaging Rules

Our messaging system is designed with student safety in mind. Here's who can talk to whom:

🏫 Principal → Anyone

Principals can message any teacher at their school. Messages appear in both dashboards.

🍎 Teacher ↔ Teacher

All teachers at the same school can message each other. Great for collaboration and coordination.

🍎 Teacher ↔ 🧒 Student (controlled)

Teachers can only message students in their own classes, and only when the chat toggle is ON for that class. Students see the teacher in their contacts only when chat is enabled.

🚫 Student ↔ Student

Students cannot message each other through the system. This is by design for COPPA/FERPA compliance.

💡 How to enable student chat: Open your class → Control Panel → toggle 💬 Student Chat to ON. Students will now see you in their contacts.

🏫 Principal Tools

The principal dashboard gives you a bird's-eye view of your entire school.

📊 Overview

School-wide stats: total teachers, students, classes, and battles. Plus the top 5 students by level.

🏫 All Classes

Browse every class across all teachers. Click any class to see its students, levels, wins, losses, and streaks.

🍎 Teachers

See all teachers at your school, their approval status, and chat with them directly.

🎛️ Control Panel

The school-wide control panel. See every class with all 8 toggles. Override any setting — for example, turn off PvP across the school during testing weeks, or enable chat for a specific class.

💬 Messages

Chat with any teacher at your school. Keep communication organized and in one place.

💳 Subscription

Manage your school or district plan. School Plan ($299/yr) covers up to 500 students and 10 teachers. District Plan ($999/yr) is unlimited.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parent Portal

Parents can check their child's progress at /parent.

  1. Go to /parent
  2. Enter your child's username (the one they use to log into the game)
  3. See their level, wins, streak, and skill breakdown
  4. Get personalized tips on how to support their learning at home
💡 Family Plan ($2.99/mo): Weekly email reports, per-skill mastery breakdown, study recommendations, ad-free experience, and support for up to 3 children.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Students go to the game (/play), open Settings, and click Join Class. They enter the join code you shared. Done!

Is there real money in the student game?

Can students chat with each other?

No. Student-to-student messaging is disabled for safety. Students can only message their teacher, and only when the teacher has enabled chat for that class.

Math Quest Academy is designed with student privacy in mind. No personal data is collected beyond username and email. All communication is teacher-controlled. No ads, no tracking, no third-party data sharing.
